After your dog learns the task at my academy, I hold mandatory handover sessions to teach you how to maintain this behavior at home. If you do not practice the cues I give you, the dog will not perform the task for you. Results are 100 percent dependent on your commitment to the follow-up sessions. My goal is simple: I want your dog to make your life easier. Whether it is fetching the newspaper, carrying your grocery basket, or picking up trash, these tasks build a strong bond between you and your pet. I am Ranjith R1, and my methodology relies on positive reinforcement, not the 'hodiyodu badiyodu' (beating) approach you see elsewhere. ### The Method I start with the basics of focus and engagement. Once your dog understands the command, we introduce the object. If it is a basket, we start with simple holding, then move to carrying while walking, and finally integrate it into your morning routine. This is why I always require my clients to participate in the handover process. I need to teach you the specific hand gestures and voice modulation that trigger the behavior. If I train the dog but you don't know the command, the training fails the moment the dog leaves my kennel. ### What We Cover - **Retrieval Skills:** Teaching your dog to fetch keys, newspapers, or specific items on command. - **Daily Utility:** Training your dog to carry a light shopping basket or hold items during walks. - **House Hygiene:** Simple tasks like picking up lightweight trash or items to place in a bin. - **Focus & Control:** Ensuring the dog keeps the item in its mouth while walking, even with distractions. ### Practical Reality This training is best for dogs that already have a good grasp of basic obedience. If your dog is pulling on the leash or isn't focused, we address that first. I am based in Haveri, Karnataka, and I offer residential board-and-train courses where I do the heavy lifting, followed by the crucial owner-training sessions to transfer that control back to you.
