## About The Art of Craft: Our Process

A single kurta takes 12+ hours of hand-embroidery. Because we use dense, traditional stitches like Pakka—which translates to 'strong'—the fabric is reinforced, not just decorated. This isn't mass production; it is heirloom-quality craft designed to last for generations, not just a single season.

At Rangsutra, our process is defined by one rule: people over machines. When you see our work, you are looking at techniques like Pakka, Soof, and Kharek—desert embroideries that require precise geometric counting and intense patience. Our artisans in Bikaner and Barmer do not just decorate fabric; they reinforce it. The dense chain stitching of Pakka embroidery creates garments that are inherently more durable than machine-stitched alternatives. We believe in transparency regarding the true cost of these items. When you pay for our work, you are funding ethical wages that provide dignity to our artisan co-owners, not corporate margins.

We source sustainable cotton and employ natural dyeing methods, such as indigo, which has been prized for centuries. Every piece goes through a slow journey:

* **Design:** Rooted in the visual language of the Rajasthan desert.
* **Technique:** Hand-weaving and manual embroidery, often taking days for a single piece.
* **Ethics:** Solar-powered centers and fair-trade practices that keep traditional skills alive for the next generation.

This is how we turn scraps into wonder through our zero-waste initiatives. We invite you to wear a story, not just a garment.
