We bring a full 4-piece live Carnatic orchestra—vocalist, mridangam, flute, and nattuvangam—because the music is the heartbeat of our movement. My senior students, who I have trained for years, perform alongside me, and for larger events, we require a minimum stage space of 20x15 feet to ensure the intricate geometry of our formations stays safe and visually powerful for your guests. ### The Kalangan Family on Stage Dance is a conversation, and when my senior disciples join me, that conversation becomes a chorus. This isn't just choreography; it is a shared language we have built over years of rigorous practice at our studio. When you hire the Kalangan Ensemble for your event, you are getting a team that moves as one. We specialize in high-energy pieces like the *Tillana*, where intricate footwork meets rhythmic complexity. Whether it’s an invocatory dance to set a sacred tone or a vibrant finale to energize a corporate gathering, we adapt our repertoire to match the mood of your audience. ### Why Live Music Matters I firmly believe that Bharatanatyam loses its soul without the accompaniment of live music. For our group sets, we bring our full Carnatic orchestra. Having a vocalist, mridangam player, flautist, and nattuvangam artist means we can react to each other in real-time. If the energy in the room shifts, the music shifts with it, making every performance a unique, living experience. ### Practical Planning - **The Setup:** We need a stage measuring at least 20x15 feet. This ensures the safety of the dancers and allows the audience to fully appreciate our spatial formations. - **Professionalism:** We arrive 60 minutes early for a sound check to ensure the orchestra and acoustics are perfectly balanced. - **Travel:** Our performance fees cover logistics for the team and instruments within Delhi NCR. Whether it's a family wedding or a formal cultural festival, bringing the Kalangan Ensemble means bringing authenticity, discipline, and a deep respect for the art form passed down to me by my mother, Smt. Jamuna Krishnan. ## About Ragini Chandershekar I am Ragini Chandrashekhar, and I consider my students at Kalangan my extended family. We have spent years in the studio refining our abhinaya and rhythm, turning our lessons into a shared bond. When we perform together, you aren't just watching a troupe—you are seeing the result of a long, beautiful journey of trust and tradition.
