You are receiving direct training in the Vazhuvoor style, paired with the rare, holistic compositions of my mother, Smt. Jamuna Krishnan. These pieces, which blend North Indian Bhakti poetry with classical dance, are a unique part of our lineage that I am deeply committed to sharing with the next generation. My teaching is built on the Guru-parampara system, a bond that goes far beyond a typical student-teacher relationship. In our classes, we focus heavily on abhinaya, or the art of expression. It is not enough to execute the movements perfectly; you must understand why Meera sings, why she prays, and the emotional backstory behind every mudra. ### Why Our Training Is Different - **Rare Compositions:** I pass down unique works that you will not find elsewhere—pieces my Amma meticulously researched, composed, and choreographed. - **Technical Rigor:** Classes are held on specialized sprung wooden flooring to protect your joints, ensuring your training remains sustainable for the long term. - **Holistic Approach:** Whether you are an adult beginner or an advanced performer, we cover theory, rhythmic structures (Layam), and stagecraft so you gain a complete understanding of the art form. We are a small, tight-knit parivaar in Dwarka. I encourage all my students to perform, as the stage is the ultimate teacher. If you are curious, have a bit of courage, and a love for classical art, you will fit right in.
