This isn’t just about steps and routines for me. Bharatanatyam is my family’s lifeline, handed down from my Amma, Guru Smt. Jamuna Krishnan. Her vision brought North Indian poetry into the world of Bharatanatyam, and I carry that forward every single day. When you dance here, you’re not just learning—you’re stepping into something deeply personal and real.

- Guru parampara dance training is my backbone. I stick to the roots but let you find your own style.
- Big focus on abhinaya, not just precise footwork. I want you to feel every emotion—love, devotion, and the tiny details that tell a story.
- We spend time on the stories behind the steps, so when you perform Meera Bhajan choreography, you know why Meera sings, why she prays.

- Our class is like a parivaar (family). We celebrate festivals, do Guru Pooja together, and always cheer each other on.
- All ages and backgrounds are here—kids, college goers, even mothers returning to dance. Bharatanatyam for adults beginners is very much welcome.

### My story

Family is everything for us at Kalangan. Amma and Appa, especially my mother Smt. Jamuna Krishnan, shaped our world - her sarees and her dance creations are still with me. My husband and two boys, Aditya and Anant, keep the house full of cricket, music, and laughter. Traditions like Vishu’s kai-neetam and Navratri’s golu bommais run deep here. All this love and history – it’s what you’ll feel in our dance.
