Abhinaya is an internal process, so our sessions focus on the 'why' behind the movement—how to embody characters like Meera or visualize devotion, not just mimic steps. Whether you are a seasoned dancer or just starting, we will strip back the technique to help you find your own way to express emotion. ### Finding Your Story in Dance Abhinaya is the art of 'carrying the spectator towards the meaning.' In my experience, many dancers get so caught up in perfecting the footwork that they forget to breathe life into the story. At Kalangan, we strip that back. My workshops are designed to help you connect with your emotions and express them clearly. We focus on: * **The Navarasas:** Understanding the nine emotions and how to wear them on your face without looking artificial. * **Character Embodiment:** Whether it's a Meera Bhajan or a complex Sloka, we break down the context, the mythology, and the intent so you aren't just performing steps; you are living a role. * **Micro-Expressions:** We review eye movements and subtle gestures in private, ensuring your storytelling is nuanced and powerful. ### Learning at Kalangan Foundation When you come to our studio in Dwarka, it is not a sterile classroom. We maintain the Guru-Shishya bond. It is a space where we share history, debate the poetry of Surdas or Vidyapati, and practice until the movement feels honest.
