I often use hidden cove lighting or soft, warm spotlights to highlight the textures of the deity or the wall backdrop, ensuring the space feels like a temple rather than just a shelf. This focus on light helps shift the energy of the room from a standard living area into a sanctuary for daily reflection. ### Designing Your Sacred Space Spirituality in the home is not just about where you place your deity. It is about how that space makes you feel when you step into it. Over the last 18 years, I have learned that the most effective spiritual corners are those that block out the noise of the outside world, even in a busy city like Mumbai. #### The Vastu Connection I always begin by looking at the Vastu compliance of your home. Energy flow is real, and the placement of your pooja unit can dictate the vibe of the entire house. Whether we are creating a dedicated room or a custom niche in your living area, I ensure the orientation aligns with traditional principles while fitting seamlessly into your modern interior design. #### Custom Art and Craftsmanship I love incorporating unique elements that make the space yours. We can use: * **Hand-painted Art:** From Shrinathji sketches to intricate lotuses, I bring in local artists to paint details that hold personal meaning for you. * **Material Mix:** I often combine warm wood paneling with cool Italian marble or brass accents to create a contrast between traditional grounding and modern luxury. * **Soft Accents:** Sculpted Buddha figures in resin or traditional Nandi brass statues add that touch of divinity. I prefer materials that age gracefully, like wood, stone, and brass. #### Making It Functional A spiritual space should be practical. If you have a small apartment, we can design a sleek, pull-out unit that keeps your items organized and out of sight when not in use. For larger homes, I love building floor-to-ceiling wooden jali work that offers privacy and adds a beautiful, filtering light effect to your prayers. The goal is to create a corner where you can pause, breathe, and simply be. ## About Purvi Shah I am Purvi, and I don't just build pooja rooms; I create the spiritual heart of your home.
