* **Technique:** Hand-turned on a lathe or carved to reveal natural grain patterns.

#### **Finish & Presentation**
* **Surface:** Natural oil finishes for wood or unpolished/honed textures for stone.
* **Style:** Abstract or totemic shapes designed as visual anchors rather than utility items.
* **Packaging:** Premium branded box with protective foam, suitable for gifting.
* **Provenance:** Includes a printed card explaining the design narrative behind the specific object.

* **Labor:** Extensive hand-carving by skilled Karigars to achieve intricate textures like thread-work patterns or inlays.
* **Finish:** Matte, honed, or leather-finish to create a tactile, organic feel rather than high-gloss polish.

#### **Build Quality**
* **Structure:** Heavy-duty construction with hidden metal or stone dowel joinery for longevity.
* **Protection:** Application of professional stone sealant to minimize porosity and staining.
*   **Dimensions:** Standard chair or side table sizes (approx. 18" x 18" x 30").

## About Furniture & Object Design (PB Home)

### Why PB Home Feels Different

I started PB Home because I wanted homes to feel less like museums, more like a cosy hug. The stuff I make isn’t just functional - it’s meant to make you stop and notice, to actually use and enjoy. My style mixes a bit of India’s heritage with a modern twist. It’s never too perfect, and that’s kind of the point.

### How We Make It

All our pieces get designed and built in-house. It’s a bit chaotic but that’s how the best ideas show up. I work with local karigars (artisans) who know their craft inside out - whether it’s marble from Rajasthan or adding those little wood and metal accents that pop. Each piece uses solid materials like green Indian marble, Banswara white, and handpicked woods. You’ll see the difference in the details.

### What You’ll Find

- Furniture: Shatranj Table (chess meets art), Dori Patti Chair (gota-patti inspired), Gradient Bar (gold frame, gradient finish)
- Lighting: LUNA Installation (moon phases in beads), custom wall sconces (think black stone lamps for moody vibes)
- Objects: Joy Totem (spells ‘Joy’ in Morse code), curated stone totems from site finds

### Collaborations

Sometimes, I team up with other designers. That’s how pieces like the Gradient Bar and LUNA came to life. These creative jugads (collaborations) bring out the most unique stuff in our collection.

Modern cultural home decor, handcrafted Indian furniture, and statement marble pieces are what make PB Home stand out. If you’re looking for something with a story - not just another item off the shelf - you’ll find it here.

## Meet your expert

[Purple Backyard](https://mytribe.in/purplebackyard)

### My story

Started Purple Backyard when I was 22. Mumbai kid, no backyard, so I built my own—open, inviting, full of life. My nani (grandmom) and mum made our home feel like a hug, not a showroom. That’s my vibe: homes should be lived in, not perfect. Japan taught me calm, India gave me soul. PB Home is my way to bring local crafts and small joys into everyday living. Stillness, chaos, all of it—design is personal.

### My work

- **What We Do**: We design homes—apartments, penthouses—and create custom objects by karigars. We also do experiential installations.
- **How We Design**: Transitional, layered, happy homes. We mix Indian craft home decor with your stories, so it feels warm, not stiff.
- **How We Work**: It’s a team effort. We work close with you, using local materials and crafts for that raw-refined blend.
- **Who We Love Working With**: Folks who see their home as a sanctuary. If you want lively, layered apartment design, and a space that feels truly yours, let’s chat.
