The secret to a dark stain lies in three pillars: quality ingredients, proper application, and diligent aftercare. ### The Science of the Paste Store-bought cones are often filled with synthetic dyes that can cause reactions and offer a bright orange color instead of the deep maroon you want. I make my own organic paste using triple-sifted Sojat henna powder. The magic is in the essential oils—I blend in high-grade eucalyptus, lavender, or cinnamon-clove oils. These aren't just for the fragrance; they help release the Lawsone dye molecules that give henna its color. ### Aftercare for the Darkest Results Once I apply your design, the clock starts. - **Keep it dry:** Water is the enemy of a fresh stain. Avoid water for 12 to 24 hours. The longer you keep the dried paste on your skin, the better. - **The Heat Trick:** Many of my clients swear by the steam method.
