## About Celebrating Together: Festivals & Community

Festivals at Prayag go beyond the calendar; they are structured, hands-on learning experiences. Whether we are painting diyas for Deepawali or learning the significance of Independence Day, these events are designed to teach our students empathy, cultural respect, and the practical joy of contributing to a community.

Our approach to celebrating festivals and community events is rooted in the Montessori philosophy: everything is an opportunity to learn. We do not just host parties; we integrate cultural events into our curriculum to help children develop social intelligence and a sense of belonging.

### How We Celebrate
For our primary and middle school students across our JP Nagar, Jayanagar, and Padmanabhanagar branches, festivals act as a bridge between the classroom and the real world. During Deepawali, children engage in creative activities like diya painting, which refines their fine motor skills while introducing them to traditional art forms. On Independence Day, our assembly programs foster a sense of national pride and unity. Even events like Friendship Day are used as exercises in building social bonds, where children learn how to initiate interactions and show kindness to peers.

### Why This Matters
Montessori education is about the 'whole child.' By participating in these celebrations, children learn to navigate different social contexts, work in groups, and respect the diverse backgrounds of their classmates. We keep these celebrations child-centric—meaning the focus remains on participation and exploration rather than performance. We invite parents to be part of this journey through regular workshops, ensuring that the community we build at school extends to the home. If you want to see how we balance academic rigor with these meaningful, culture-rich experiences, we encourage you to visit our campus.

## About Prayag Montessori
