We keep our batch sizes small, usually under ten people, so our guest artists—who have years of practice in their specific craft—can guide you through the process step by step. Whether it is handling light-sensitive chemicals for cyanotype or working with fine detail in miniature watercolors, you are getting focused, hands-on time in a professional studio setting. ### Our Approach to Art At The Pottery Lab, we believe that making things by hand is a necessary break from the city's routine. We move away from the pressure of perfection, focusing instead on the calm that comes with slow, deliberate work. ### Workshop Highlights * **Cyanotype Printing:** This is a fascinating way to use sunlight to create prints. We guide you from mixing your own chemistry to composing your design, resulting in deep, blue-toned images. It is part science, part art, and completely rewarding. * **Zinc Plate Etching:** If you enjoy working with texture and relief, this is a deep dive into printmaking. You learn to prepare the metal plate, design your composition, and create your own series of prints. It is a technical but deeply satisfying process. * **Miniature Watercolor Painting:** We collaborate with artists like Kripa to bring you into the world of delicate, small-scale painting. You learn how to capture scenery and emotion in a tiny space, using traditional techniques that require patience and a steady hand. ### Who This Is For These sessions are for anyone in Mumbai looking for a creative outlet. You might be a complete beginner who has never held a brush, or an artist looking to learn a new technique. Our studio in Pali Hill, Bandra, is designed to be a quiet retreat where you can disconnect from your phone, meet other makers, and spend a few hours focused on your own creation. ## About The Pottery Lab We created The Pottery Lab in Pali Hill to be an escape from the rush of Mumbai. We are not here to judge your art, but to help you find the quiet joy of making things by hand alongside a community of curious people.
