## About Painterly Studio Portraits

When you book a studio session, we are collaborating on a piece of art, not just a snapshot. I work with a collection of silk drapes and vintage props like antique desks and gramophones to build a scene that feels authentic to your story. Before we even step into the studio, we will discuss the aesthetic you want, ensuring the lighting and mood align with the vision you have for your pregnancy portraits.

Photography is my way of slowing down time. In my Whitefield studio, I move away from sterile, bright white backgrounds and instead lean into high-contrast, Rembrandt-style lighting. This approach creates a painterly aesthetic where shadow and texture do the heavy lifting, keeping the focus entirely on you and your changing form. 

### The Creative Process
Every session is deliberate. I provide styling advice to ensure your attire coordinates with our vintage setup, whether that means elegant silk drapes or gowns that feel true to your personal style. Because I believe in crafting a finished piece of art, I do not provide raw files. Instead, I hand-edit every image, applying specific color grading and texture overlays that are unique to my signature style.

These sessions are for mothers who want to document this phase without the pressure to perform or smile for the camera constantly. Whether you are coming alone, with your partner, or involving your older children and pets, the environment is designed to be relaxed. We embrace the quiet, brooding, and reflective moments. If you want portraits that feel timeless, authentic, and deeply personal, this is where we will create them together.
