I am teaching them the finer points of footwork and chakkars, breaking down each movement so everyone can learn, no matter their time zone.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/0e31799e-8488-4283-abf4-d79c1b677034) - [Video: Here I am practicing a very old and difficult traditional paran aamad. In my sessions, we do not just memorize steps; we work on the alignment of your stance and the clarity of your rhythmic footwork, ensuring you build strength safely while understanding the logic behind every movement. ### The Guru-Shishya Tradition I believe Kathak is a lifelong *sadhana* (practice). Having trained under my Guru, Smt Rajashree Shirke, I pass down the same dedication I received. Whether you are in my studio in Juhu, Vile Parle, or Virar, or joining me over Zoom from across the globe, you get the same focus on technique—*nritta* (pure dance) and *abhinay* (expressive storytelling). ### What to Expect in Class - **Technical Precision:** We dedicate time to footwork and *chakkars* (spins), ensuring your technique is solid to prevent injury. My online classes use real-time feedback to correct your posture. - **The Live Element:** When possible, we train with live tabla and harmonium accompaniment. This interaction—that *sawal-jawab* (musical question and answer)—is where the real magic happens. - **For Every Level:** From absolute beginners just learning to stand straight to advanced students preparing for *Rangmanch Pravesh* (debut performance), there is a place for you. I also offer certified courses for those looking to pursue dance professionally. ### Why Learn With Me? I am not just a teacher; I am a fellow student of the art. I get shy, I go off-key, and I make mistakes—and I encourage you to do the same. Learning dance should not be about perfection on day one; it is about showing up and finding your rhythm. We focus on creating a supportive space where you can explore the cycle of *taal* and the depth of classical music without the pressure of a rigid, cold environment. If you want to understand the *why* behind every movement, come join us. ## About Pooja Pant I have spent my life dedicated to Kathak, and I am just as passionate about teaching as I am about performing.
