It is a simple but effective way to keep your floor space open and clutter-free, providing a designated workspace that respects the calm required for a bedroom. Designing for color lovers requires a delicate balance between vibrancy and peace. For this young family, we moved away from stark neutrals, using a deliberate palette to define zones: greens for the kitchen and office to encourage focus and freshness, blues for the living and dining areas to create a sense of calm, and soft pinks for the nursery to add a touch of whimsy. ### Designing for Real Life The primary constraint here was the toddler. An open floor plan can sometimes feel chaotic, but we managed this by choosing rounded furniture shapes and durable finishes that soften the visual impact. The flow of the house is prioritized so that as the children grow, the space evolves with them rather than feeling restrictive. ### Functional Details - **Space-Saving Solutions:** Beyond the fold-away desk, we maximized storage by integrating custom cabinetry that blends into the wall color, preventing the room from feeling closed in. - **Lighting Layers:** Because color can change drastically with light, we utilized a mix of focused task lighting and ambient warm pendants to ensure the colors look rich at both noon and night. - **Texture over Trend:** We layered the spaces with textures like rattan mesh and linen to ensure that even with bright walls, the home feels grounded and 'lived-in' rather than like a catalogue set. Whether you are looking for a bold color-themed home or a subtle shift in your existing floor plan, the goal is always to create a space that feels distinctly yours. Our approach at Plavi Design Studio is to strip away the fluff and focus on the elements—light, flow, and material—that make a home feel like a sanctuary. ## About Plavi Design Studio I'm Plavita.
