During the day, you see the social life of fish, but after dark, you step into their active hunting and resting routines. Because you rely entirely on your torch beam, you must have excellent buoyancy control to navigate safely without disturbing the delicate coral environment. When the sun sets, the reef does not go to sleep. It simply switches shifts. Predators like jacks and snappers emerge to hunt, while creatures like the parrotfish tuck themselves away in protective mucus cocoons. We guide certified divers through these nocturnal transformations in places like Maya Thila in the Maldives, where the action is fast and exhilarating. Safety is our absolute priority once the sun goes down. A night dive requires specific protocols, including the use of both a primary and backup dive torch, and a different set of hand signals to communicate in the dark. We teach you how to manage your air, monitor your depth, and maintain your position using only your light. This experience is recommended for those who have completed their Open Water certification and have logged a few dives, as rock-solid buoyancy is non-negotiable. If you are looking to advance your skills, we can integrate night diving elements into your PADI specialty training during our group holidays. Whether you want to photograph rare nocturnal creatures or simply experience the quiet intensity of the deep ocean at night, our instructors ensure you have the skills to dive with total confidence. ## About Planet Scuba We are Planet Scuba India, and after 17 years, we still get that kid-in-a-candy-store feeling every time we hit the water.
