I focus on a gentle, patient approach to safely remove knots and restore your dog's comfort, ensuring they leave my salon feeling like themselves again. ## Photos and videos - [Video: This Shih Tzu was rescued from a situation where its fur was severely matted. This video shows the careful process of shaving down the mats to relieve the dog's discomfort and address the underlying skin issues.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/fbf583e0-af6a-4db2-89fb-9b7a83ab1407) ## About Special Care for Matted Coats If your dog is dealing with heavy matting, I never force the process. My first step is always to assess the skin underneath the knots to check for hidden infections or irritation. I use professional-grade detangling tools to salvage what I can, only resorting to a shave-down when it is the safest, most painless option for your pet. ### Why Matting Needs Professional Attention Many pet parents don't realize how painful mats can be. When fur tangles near the skin, it pulls tight every time your dog moves. This can cause bruising, trapped moisture, and even skin infections if left untreated. When you bring your dog to my Rajajinagar salon, my goal is to remove this discomfort without causing any further stress or fear. ### My Approach to De-Matting I handle matted coats with extreme patience. Whether it is a Shih Tzu with tight knots or a double-coated breed with impacted undercoat, I have the right tools—from specialized rakes to high-velocity dryers—to help loosen the fur safely. I never rush the process, especially with older dogs or puppies who might be anxious. * **Assessment:** I check the condition of the skin and coat health first. * **Safe Removal:** I use de-matting techniques that prioritize your pet’s well-being over aesthetics. * **Restoration:** Once the mats are gone, I provide a soothing, deep-conditioning bath to restore the skin's natural balance. ### Prevention Tips After we clear the mats, I always share tips on how to prevent future tangles. Depending on your dog's breed and coat type, I can recommend the right brush and schedule for your home maintenance. Remember, *sakkath khushi aagutte* (it brings me immense happiness) to see a dog transform from uncomfortable and matted to happy and clean. You don't have to deal with this alone; let's get your furry friend back to their best self. ## About Pets Forever I am the person behind the clippers here in Rajajinagar. I treat every matted dog that comes to my salon with the same patience and care I would give to my own, focusing on safety above all else.
