We use a high-velocity blowout process that safely extracts that stubborn, shedding fur before the bath even begins. This ensures your dog leaves our salon with a significantly lighter, cleaner coat that stays manageable for weeks, rather than just looking good for a day. ### Why Retrievers Need Specialized Care Golden and Labrador Retrievers have dense, double coats designed to handle the elements. In a home environment, that undercoat gets trapped, which can lead to skin irritation, hot spots, and even fungal infections if not removed correctly. My process goes beyond just surface brushing. ### Our De-Shedding Process - **Pre-Bath Blowout:** I use professional high-velocity dryers to force out loose undercoat hair before water touches the coat. This is where most of the shedding gets handled. - **Hydro-Massage Bath:** Using specialized shampoos, I open the pores and deep-clean the skin. This step is essential for removing oils that trap dead hair. - **Precision Brushing:** Once dry, I use metal combs and slicker brushes to line-brush the coat. This reaches down to the skin to remove remaining mats and loose fur. ### Handling Your Dog with Care I know that some dogs find the noise of a high-velocity dryer intimidating. I take a 'slow and steady' approach, especially with puppies or nervous rescues. It is about building trust so that your dog enjoys the session rather than fearing it. Whether it is a senior dog who needs extra patience or a high-energy pup, my goal is to ensure they leave feeling happy, light, and comfortable. Sakkath khushi aagutte (it brings us immense happiness) when a dog trots out with a fresh, healthy coat and a wagging tail. ## About Pets Forever I’m Appu, and for me, grooming is not just a job—it’s an art form. I take the time to learn every dog's personality, ensuring that even the most nervous Retriever feels safe and relaxed during their session.
