I carefully assess the coat first. If it is salvageable, I use my line-brushing technique to tease out knots without the pain. If the mats are too tight, I will recommend a safe shave-down to relieve the discomfort immediately, because your dog's happiness is more important than a long coat. ### My Approach to Shih Tzu Grooming Grooming a Shih Tzu is not just about making them look like a doll; it is about their health. Their double coats can hide skin irritation, fleas, and painful mats that pull on their skin. When you book a session with me, I prioritize a thorough assessment before any tool touches their coat. ### The Process * **Assessment First:** I check for matting severity. If the knots are too tight to brush out safely, I will perform a clean, professional shave-down to give the skin room to breathe. If the coat is healthy, I use manual line-brushing to preserve the length. * **The 4-Step Spa:** Every session includes a clarifying wash to strip dirt, a color-enhancing shampoo to bring out the natural shine, a moisture mask to repair the hair shaft, and a tear-free face wash. * **Finishing Touches:** I use high-velocity dryers to separate the hair for maximum volume, followed by a full scissor cut. Whether you want a classic puppy cut or a specific trim for your Shih Tzu, I ensure the style is practical and comfortable for them. ### Why Routine Matters I always tell my clients that maintenance is key. Regular professional grooming prevents the 'matted mess' that causes so much stress. By the time your Shih Tzu leaves my chair in Rajajinagar, they are not just groomed—they are happy, healthy, and ready to show off that fresh coat. Sakkath khushi aagutte (It brings me pure joy) to see them transform from a pained state to playful and confident. ## About Pets Forever I am a perfectionist who treats every Shih Tzu like they are my own family.
