This is what we drill until it becomes muscle memory for them, ensuring they stay calm and attentive, not distracted by the environment or other dogs. Training for the ring is different from teaching simple tricks. Whether you are aiming for KCI obedience standards or the intense IGP sport routines, the goal is total control and focus. KCI obedience requires flawless execution of sit, platz, and stand commands, often from a distance. I work with you and your dog to build this, ensuring your dog does not just know the command but executes it with speed and enthusiasm. For IGP, we focus on drive building. It involves bite work mechanics, protection training, and impulse control. This is not about aggression, it is about teaching the dog to channel their energy into a task on your command. We use toys, tugs, and positive reinforcement to build this intensity safely. My method is simple. We build a partnership first. A dog that enjoys working for you will always perform better than a dog working out of fear. We work on your handler skills too, so you know how to present your dog, use the leash correctly, and keep their attention focused on you, not the judges or the crowd.
