If your dog is anxious or new to pack environments, we start with indirect socialization—letting them observe others playing from a safe, fenced-off distance. This allows them to decompress and learn social cues without the pressure of direct interaction, preventing triggers before they start. Many pet parents assume that throwing dogs into a group is socialization. That is how fights and trauma start. At our Mandi Valley farm, we approach community and play with strict oversight. ### The Science of Safe Play We curate every interaction based on energy levels and temperament, not just size. For a reactive or high-anxiety dog, the first step is often observation. By placing them in a secure, private garden where they can see the 'party' through the fence, they learn that other dogs are not a threat. Only when they show signs of calm, curious behavior do we introduce them to a single, stable 'buddy dog.' ### Why Our Dog Parties Are Different When we host events, the focus isn't just on the dogs running around. It’s on maintaining a balanced state of mind. We utilize 1.5 acres of open, cage-free space to ensure no dog feels trapped or cornered. * **Supervised Interaction:** Whether it’s a group play session or a party, there is always a handler present to de-escalate tension. * **Neutral Ground:** Because this is a boarding facility, the dogs don't have 'territory' to guard, which significantly lowers the risk of resource guarding. * **Focus on Comfort:** If a dog is overwhelmed, they have immediate access to private, quiet zones. No dog is ever forced to socialize. Whether your pup is an outgoing social butterfly or a nervous wallflower, our goal is to improve their social confidence through small, consistent, and safe steps.
