We replace heavy, messy dirt with our own lightweight, bio-active organic mixes that nourish plants while remaining perfectly safe for your balcony structure. We also integrate custom drainage layers that protect your building's waterproofing, ensuring your new green corner remains stress-free and tidy. Our approach to balcony and terrace design centers on what actually survives and thrives in urban Mumbai. We move away from high-maintenance exotic plants that struggle with our humidity and wind, favoring hardy, indigenous species like Madhumalti, Kaner, and Ixora. These plants aren't just tougher; they support local biodiversity, attracting birds and butterflies to your high-rise home. ### Why focus on native plants? Native species require fewer chemicals and less intensive care. They are adapted to our local sun and rain cycles, meaning your garden stays vibrant with less effort from you. We select plants based on a micro-climate analysis of your specific balcony—looking at your sunlight direction and wind exposure—to ensure we don't just pick 'pretty' plants, but the right ones. ### Making your space work for you Whether you need a quiet corner for morning tea or a full kitchen garden to grow your own herbs, we optimize the layout to fit your lifestyle. We use vertical space with trellises and custom-designed plant racks that allow climbers like Blue Pea to create natural green walls, providing privacy without drilling into your building facade. For larger terraces, we install automated drip irrigation systems and create zoned spaces, separating social areas from dedicated foodscaping patches. Every project we undertake is an exercise in balancing aesthetic joy with the functional needs of an ecosystem. ## About Peepal We are a collective of gardeners who believe a balcony shouldn't just look green—it should be alive. We focus on building functional ecosystems that thrive in city conditions, keeping things simple, chemical-free, and beautiful.
