## About Maternity & New Beginnings

People often worry their dog will get jealous or refuse to sit still during a newborn or maternity session, but that is actually the best part. I don’t believe in stiff poses or forcing pets to behave. We work at their pace, using treats and play to wait for those genuine, fleeting interactions—like a curious sniff at a baby's crib or a protective head-rest on a bump. The result isn't a perfect studio shot, but a real memory of how your fur baby is already becoming a big sibling.

### Capturing the 'First Baby' Transition

Welcoming a new human into the family is a massive shift, and your pet feels it too. My approach to maternity and newborn sessions isn't just about the baby—it's about the connection between your 'first baby' and the new one. Whether we are shooting a maternity announcement in your home or those precious first weeks with a newborn, the goal is to capture the unspoken bond that forms between them.

### Why No Poses Matter

If you have a husky who thinks he's the boss or a shy indie who prefers to hide, you are in the right place. I don't chase perfection. I chase the honest, messy, and beautiful moments that define your life right now. We don't stress if the dog doesn't look at the camera; we focus on the protective guard he puts up when he’s watching the crib, or the way she gently sniffs the baby’s tiny feet.

### How We Make It Work

- **Pre-session planning:** We talk about your pet's personality beforehand. If they are nervous, we start slow.
- **Home comfort:** I often shoot at your home where your pet feels secure, allowing for authentic, relaxed interactions.
- **No-pressure pacing:** These sessions include plenty of buffer time. If the baby needs a feed or the dog needs a break, we take it. There is no ticking clock on bonding time.

From the anticipation during pregnancy to the first few days of bringing your baby home, I’m here to document the start of their journey together. Let’s make sure your fur baby is just as much a part of these memories as the rest of the family.
