# Our Mission: Why We Pawga and Fight for Indian Streeties

Tribe Verified · Funding shelter care across India since 2020

By [Pawga](https://mytribe.in/pawga_) · Pop-up events in cafes and studios across 13+ cities in India · ₹849 per person (estimate)

We didn't start this just for the yoga or the art. We started Pawga to rewrite the narrative of Indian street animals, moving from pity to actual connection and adoption.

## About Our Mission: Why We Pawga

Every ticket you buy for a Pawga event helps fund vaccinations, food, and medical care for the shelters we partner with across India. But more importantly, this is a space for you to meet the real stars: our rescue puppies and kittens. They roam freely during our yoga and art sessions, and if you fall in love, we handle the adoption paperwork for you so you can bring home a new best friend.

People often ask us if Pawga is a shelter. We wish! We are just a group of people who couldn't ignore the plight of street animals and decided to do something about it. Since 2020, we have been using the joy of puppy yoga to bridge the gap between people and the animals that need them most.

### Why We Do This
Our streeties are the history and resilience of our cities, yet they are constantly sidelined for illegally bred international dogs. We host these sessions to show you the personality, the silliness, and the pure heart of an Indian indie dog. When you participate, you aren't just paying for a class; you are helping us fight the stigma against strays.

### The Reality of Our Work
We are loud about our advocacy because we have to be. We track legal rulings, we call out the mistreatment of feeders, and we document the daily realities of animal welfare in India. We believe that if you are here, you care too.

### Your Role in the Mission
Whether you attend a puppy yoga flow, a pottery workshop with kittens, or just come to hang out, your presence supports local shelters. We aren't just selling a ticket; we are creating a cycle of care. You get an hour of chaos and connection, and a streetie gets a fighting chance at a forever home. If you want to support, join the #pawga fam and let's make some noise for the voiceless.

## About Pawga

We’re the humans who couldn’t just look away when we saw what was happening on our streets. We started Pawga to swap sad shelter stories for actual joy, and we’re loud about it because our streeties deserve nothing less.
