## About Custom Laser Cutting & Engraving

The quality of your laser cut or engraving starts with the file. We work best with clean vector files like .dxf or .ai, but if you only have a napkin sketch or a rough drawing, we can help vectorize it to get it ready for our Flux Beambox. This prep step is essential for us to ensure clean edges on materials like MDF or acrylic, so let us take a look at your design before we start the laser.

We are not a high-speed factory, and that is by design. Our lab is a place for prototyping and small-batch production where we focus on the details of every piece we cut. Whether you need a one-off gift or a small run of branded merchandise, we treat the process like an experiment. We handle material sourcing, vector preparation, and test cuts to make sure the final output matches what you imagined. 

We frequently work with:

- MDF wood (2.5mm to 4mm) for a rustic finish with dark, burnt edges.
- Cast acrylic (clear, colored, or gold mirror) for a smooth, professional look.
- Cork and specialized paper stocks for intricate engraving.

Since we operate as a community maker space, our pricing is straightforward and reflects the machine time and labor involved in setup. We do not do industrial-grade surface finishing like heavy sanding or painting, but we do provide clean, functional, and creative pieces.
