Shooting South Indian and fusion weddings is a unique challenge that I genuinely enjoy. It is not just about the vibrant Kanjivaram sarees or the gold jewellery, though those details are stunning. It is about understanding the rhythm of the rituals. When I cover a Telugu wedding, I know when to expect the 'Jeelakarra Bellam' or the 'Talambralu.' This foresight allows me to be in the right place at the right time, so I can catch the laughter and the tears without needing to pose you. For fusion weddings, like a blend of Buddhist and Maharashtrian traditions, the challenge doubles. You have two distinct sets of rituals to respect. My approach is to document both narratives seamlessly. I use a mix of candid photography to capture the unscripted magic and traditional shots to document the key customs that your elders care about.
