This style removes the distraction of vibrant colors, forcing the viewer to focus entirely on the connection between you and your partner, or the relief of a quiet moment away from the crowd. There is a specific kind of honesty in a black and white photograph. When I process these images, I am not just hitting a filter, I am carefully balancing contrast and grain to bring out the depth of the moment. ### Why Choose Monochrome Color is wonderful, but it can sometimes hide the story. In a busy Sangeet or a crowded Haldi, your eyes dart between the bright decor, the outfits, and the guests. Monochrome forces a pause. It highlights the way a groom looks at his bride during the varmala or the tear in a father's eye during the kanyadaan. By removing the distraction of color, we emphasize the expression. ### My Approach to Lighting To make these shots work, I rely heavily on natural light and deliberate shadows. Whether we are at a heritage venue in Satara or a ballroom in Pune, I look for light sources that create depth. A soft glow from a side window or the dramatic fall-off of light during an evening portrait session is often where the magic happens. ### Where It Works Best While I incorporate these styles throughout my wedding coverage, they are particularly powerful for: * **Intimate Portraits:** Where we have time to pose and perfect the lighting. * **Candid Rituals:** Capturing the solemnity of rituals like the Antarpat, where the focus should be on your expressions. * **Pre-Wedding Shoots:** Using dramatic architecture or natural landscapes to create timeless, cinema-like frames.
