You will find that even the quietest child gets involved here because these tactile props transform a standard book reading into a sensory experience that brings characters to life. At Ourstoryshelf, we believe that stories are better when they are shared and performed. Our theatrical sessions focus on emotional development, picking tales that gently discuss friendship, courage, and kindness. By using techniques like shadow puppetry and the Japanese Kamishibai story box, we capture the imagination of children aged 3 and up, moving them beyond passive listening to active engagement. ### Why Theatrical Storytelling Works Unlike traditional reading hours, our sessions incorporate physical movement, Q&A, and interaction. When we share a story, we want children to see the emotions on the characters' faces and feel the weight of their choices. - **Kamishibai Boxes:** This ancient storytelling method adds a sense of anticipation and theater that keeps children focused. - **Shadow Puppets:** Using light and silhouettes allows children to explore the magic of storytelling in a way that feels ancient and captivating. - **Hands-On Connection:** Every storytelling session is followed by a creative craft, such as puppet making, painting, or paper crafts, so your child goes home with a tangible piece of the day’s adventure. ### Join Us in Rustam Bagh Our workshops are hosted in a cozy, naturally ventilated library setting at The Green Pocket. We keep our batches small to ensure every child gets the attention they need to shine. Whether you are looking for a one-off Friday evening session or a quarterly membership that includes book borrowing privileges, we offer a welcoming space where kids can be themselves, get a little messy, and make new friends. We invite you to join our community and discover the joy of stories that spark wonder. ## About Ourstoryshelf We are a team of storytellers who believe that magic lives in paper puppets and carefully chosen words. We created Ourstoryshelf to give children a space to explore big emotions like friendship and kindness, away from screens and classrooms.
