I focused on the delicate interplay of light and shadow, the softness of skin against the fine strands of hair, and the glossy texture of the lips to create a hyperrealistic and evocative portrait.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/caf6234c-f013-4fcf-ac93-dd6b87374b3c) - ![I present 'Gajraaj', a tribute to the sheer power and majesty of the elephant. My goal with this large-scale charcoal drawing was to render every wrinkle and the weathered texture of the tusks, conveying a sense of ancient wisdom and enduring strength.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/1b41ab62-c29a-4e8e-a7ad-5d57fa0cd8cd) - [Video: Creating timeless family heirlooms is a profound honor. I use 200gsm acid-free paper for portraits to guarantee they remain archival, while larger statement works are created on primed linen canvas. You will always receive a digital preview before I apply the final museum-grade fixative and prepare the artwork for shipping. My process is rooted in the quiet intensity of charcoal and graphite. Because I work in monochrome, there is nowhere for the detail to hide. This is why I prioritize high-grade materials that allow for deep contrasts and fine textures, particularly when rendering details like jewelry, fabric folds, or the reflection of light on instruments. ### How We Work Together Whether you are looking for a tribute to a loved one or a piece of conceptual art, the collaboration follows a straightforward path: * **Consultation:** We discuss your vision and the reference material. I can merge multiple photos or focus on a single subject depending on your goals. * **Execution:** For a standard A3 portrait, I typically dedicate over 30 hours of work. Larger 3ft by 4ft canvases require a longer timeline and specialized crated shipping to ensure they reach you safely. * **Refinement:** Every commission includes a round of feedback via a digital preview. This ensures the expression and composition meet your expectations before the work is sealed. ### My Artistry My work goes beyond a simple likeness. I aim to catch the energy of the subject, whether it is the raw power of wildlife, the intricate grace of a traditional Lavani dancer, or the quiet composure of a portrait. I have spent years refining techniques to manage the smudge and dust of charcoal, resulting in sharp, hyperrealistic finishes that are protected to last for generations. Based in Mumbai and Latur, I ship finished pieces across India using professional, secure packaging to maintain the integrity of the drawing. ## About Om Thadkar I am Om, a charcoal artist based in Mumbai and Latur.
