Lighting is not something you want to troubleshoot once it is installed. Do not fall for the trap of buying twice; invest in reliable hardware once, and save yourself the headache of ceiling repairs and repeated electrician visits. ### Why Your Lighting Plan Matters Most people think lighting is just about buying a bulb or a panel. It is not. It is about how that light interacts with your home, your climate, and your daily life. #### The Truth About Color Temperature We live in a hot country, India. Yet, many people blindly copy Western lighting trends. I always suggest Natural White (4000K-4500K) for most Indian homes. It is closest to daylight, soothing for your eyes, and makes your space feel open. Keep the warm yellow lights for specific cozy nooks and use cool white only for commercial task areas where you need to stay alert. Don't just follow a trend—feel the light. #### Avoid the 'Swiss Cheese' Ceiling One of the biggest mistakes I see is poor planning. If you start cutting holes in your ceiling without a layout, you end up with too many points, bad glare, and a ceiling that looks like Swiss cheese. Plan your lighting points early.
