We angled each block to filter harsh sunlight while allowing for natural ventilation, a solution we refined based on local wind patterns. This balance of technical performance and aesthetic intent defines our approach to material selection. Our design philosophy rests on the conviction that meaningful architecture emerges from the intersection of context and material. Whether we are utilizing traditional stone, managing concrete facades, or integrating landscape features, every element is considered for its longevity and performance. ### Climatic Responsiveness We prioritize passive cooling techniques. The jali screens, for instance, mitigate solar heat gain while maintaining privacy. We analyze sun paths and wind direction at the start of every project to determine the exact placement of apertures. ### Material Integrity We source materials that age well. Natural stone, raw plaster, and metal accents are selected to gain character over time. We prefer materials that reflect the local geography, ensuring the building feels rooted in its environment rather than imposed upon it. ### Process-Driven Design Our working process begins with a detailed site analysis. This foundational data guides the massing, aperture placement, and overall facade composition. We manage every phase, from structural coordination to municipal submissions. By maintaining a tight loop with our consultants, we ensure the final build remains faithful to the initial design concept. ### Translating Culture We bridge global architectural principles with regional narratives. Using locally available materials in a contemporary layout allows us to create structures that feel specific to their location, whether in Delhi, Jaipur, or abroad. ## About NUAR Studios We are Gautam and Kanika, the architects behind NUAR Studios.
