When you engage our company for a production or event, you are hiring dancers who approach performance as a collaborative, narrative-driven experiment rather than a static routine. We prioritize authentic expression and technical precision in every piece we present. Formed in 2021 from our core 'MOVE' project, The Nrityakosh Company exists to challenge the boundaries of how belly dance is perceived and performed in India. We move away from the 'fitness-only' narrative to treat dance as a serious performance art. ### Our Approach to Performance Every production we undertake is an exploration of identity, history, and mythology. Whether we are presenting works like *Parikrama: The Journey Within* or the emotive *In Lieu of Flowers*, our focus remains on 'embodied storytelling'. We do not just execute choreography; we research themes, analyse music, and construct narratives that resonate with contemporary audiences. ### Why Book Our Troupe? - **Original Fusion Vocabulary:** We train in a distinct blend of Oriental dance, Kathak, and contemporary movement. This unique fusion style creates visually compelling work that stands out. - **Production Capability:** We handle the complexity of stagecraft, from lighting design and prop management to theatrical makeup, ensuring a complete professional experience for event organizers. - **Versatile Staging:** Our troupe is experienced in performing at diverse venues, from dedicated theatre spaces like Medai in Bangalore to large-scale art festivals such as the Abhivyakti City Art Project in Ahmedabad. ### The 'Triple Bill' Initiative We believe in paying it forward. Through our 'Triple Bill' initiative, we provide a platform for professional belly dancers across India to experiment with storytelling without the financial burden usually associated with staging shows. This commitment to the craft and our peers defines who we are as a company. If you are looking for performances that offer depth, intellectual rigour, and artistic beauty, we invite you to start a conversation with us. ## About Nrityakosh We are a group of dedicated dancers who train weekly to refine our unique movement language. We believe in performance that makes the audience think and feel, drawing on our training in Oriental, Kathak, and contemporary styles to tell stories on stage.
