## About Performance & Choreography Training

### My Take on Performance

At Nrityakosh, I see belly dance as more than fitness or flashy moves. I care about *bhava* and *rasa* - basically, feeling and essence. I want you to use your body to tell stories, not just copy steps. My training is all about making you a thinking dancer who knows how to express, not just perform.

### Paths to the Spotlight

Doesn't matter if you're fresh or seasoned, I help you step onto the stage when you're ready. My student showcases are your first shot - super supportive, not scary. There’s the beginner showcase (just weeks in), then our Monsoon Hafla (quarterly chill session), and RAQS-E-MEHFIL (the big yearly show). I handle the backstage headaches so you focus on your moment.

### Level Up: Embodied Storytelling

For dancers wanting more, I run an 8-week deep dive. You learn to build big pieces from scratch - picking music, costumes, and research. The final project is a full 75-minute show. This is where storytelling through dance really kicks in.

### Labs & Mentorship

Collaboration matters. In my Performance Lab, belly dancers in Bangalore try new stuff, get honest feedback, and grow together. The Triple Bill is for pros who want to make their own 15-minute fusion dance production with my guidance.

### Going Pro: The Company

If you’re dreaming big, my company wing is for you. Dancers trained in our blend of Oriental, Kathak, and contemporary style get to tour and perform across India and beyond.

Classes are in Bangalore, but lots of our modules (like Embodied Storytelling) run online too. So you can join from anywhere.

## Meet your expert

[Nrityakosh](https://mytribe.in/nrityakosh)

### My story

Started with Bharatnatyam at 8, then belly dance found me and everything changed. Not just fitness, it’s a language. Our first show, RaS Project, used belly dance to tell Ramayana women's stories - Sita, Surpanakha, all that. Nrityakosh is about exploring, learning, sharing dance as a friend. I’m still training myself, Kathak, ballet, always a student. This school is just sharing that joy, that friendship, with everyone.

### My work

- **Our Classes & Styles**: We teach Middle Eastern classical dance, Indian Fusion belly dance, Bolly Funk, Jazz Fusion. Beginner to advanced, in-studio or online.
- **Not Just Fitness**: We go deep - history, culture, technique. We want dancers who think, not just move.
- **Storytelling & Productions**: We use embodied storytelling dance in shows like Safar-e-Raqs, Scheherazade's Web. Indian arts, emotions, all mixed in.
- **Community & Collaboration**: Our belly dance performance lab is for everyone to learn, experiment, and grow together. Tribe vibes, always.
