## About Celebrating Together: Our Community's Festivals

When we mark a festival, we don't just decorate; we bring our learning space to life. Whether it is churning butter for Janmashtami or designing floral pookalams for Onam, every activity is designed to build fine motor skills, coordination, and genuine cultural appreciation. Your child learns by doing, contributing, and being an active part of our growing school family.

Festivals at Nivriti Montessori act as natural extensions of our curriculum. We believe that when a child understands the rhythm of a festival, they learn about history, geography, and social science in the most immersive way possible. 

From the meticulous preparation of modaks for Ganesh Chaturthi to the delicate art of crafting ornaments for our Christmas tree, these moments are planned to support independence and focus. We encourage the children to participate in every step of the process. This isn't passive observation; it is active participation. 

For instance, during our harvest celebrations like Sankranti, children engage in rangoli making and storytelling, connecting them to the agricultural roots of the festival. When we celebrate Janmashtami, we move beyond just dressing up; the act of churning butter becomes a lesson in patience, physical coordination, and the understanding of transformation. 

Our community is the heartbeat of these celebrations. We often invite parents to join us, turning our school into a shared space where we all learn from each other. By celebrating Diwali, Christmas, Onam, and other festivals together, we help children develop empathy, learn about diverse traditions, and feel a sense of belonging.
