## About Collaborations & Special Projects

When we work on projects like 'Memories on a Plate', we aren't just making a book. We are collecting the 'andaaze se' (by estimation) wisdom of families. Whether it is digitizing handwritten archives for a commemorative edition or creating custom anthologies for organizations, we look for partners who understand that a recipe is incomplete without the story of why it was cooked, who it was cooked for, and how it felt to share it.

At Nivaala, partnerships are rooted in a shared belief: recipes are family heirlooms. Our special projects go beyond standard cookbooks because we focus on the visceral connection between food and memory. When we partnered with The Alipore Post for 'Memories on a Plate', we didn't just ask for ingredient lists. We asked for the smells of childhood kitchens, the comfort of a meal during a difficult time, and the silent language of love passed down through generations.

We transform loose memories into structured archives. We work with creators, institutions, and families who want to gather their own collective history. Whether it is an illustrated anthology of 100 Indian kitchens or a custom coffee-table book for a private family reunion, our process involves transcribing oral histories, restoring old photos, and weaving anecdotes into the technical steps of cooking. ## About Nivaala

I started Nivaala because I did not want to lose my mother's voice. I realized that my own search for these lost recipes was something others were also struggling with. Now, through these special projects, I get to help families and communities save their own stories before they fade away.
