It is about grit, resilience, and building a community. Here is how I brought my dream of a professional ballet school to India. ## Photos and videos - ![This is the origin story of NBSI. I started the National Ballet School in 2019 to share my passion and make professional ballet training accessible across India. Since then, we've grown into a multi-studio institution with international recognition.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/38e152a8-10ed-4969-b71c-8b08bee4a7c4) - ![Having performed across 8 countries, I bring a global perspective to our school. My international experience shapes our training standards and helps us prepare dancers for a worldwide stage. Ballet isn't just what I do; it's who I am.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/1c0b1087-b523-428e-8c6d-889638f27c39) ## About About the Founder & Our Story I started my own ballet training at 13, which is considered late in the traditional world. That taught me that grit matters more than timing. I built NBSI not just for perfectionists, but for anyone ready to show up, do the work, and find their rhythm. They told me I started too late, but I found that the challenge only made me push harder. After dancing in eight countries and navigating the highs and lows of professional performance, I realized India needed a space that prioritized passion over rigid stereotypes. NBSI is that space. We handle everything from high-stakes commercial choreography to the daily grind of technique classes. My goal was never just to teach steps; it was to create a community where setbacks like a last-minute show cancellation are viewed as opportunities to pivot and grow. Whether we are preparing for a commercial shoot or a student recital, we apply the same professional rigor. You will see that in our work, we focus on camera-ready precision and movement quality. We are here to dismantle the idea that ballet is exclusive. If you have the drive, we have the space. From boardrooms and malls to film sets, we bring the discipline of classical dance into every project. We mess up, we laugh, and we grow together. If you are looking for a place where you can be yourself, mess up your ponytail, and still dance with power, you are in the right place. ## About NBSI Ballet School Hi, I’m Dhvani. I went from dropping my MBA plans to dancing across eight countries, and now, I’m building a home for dancers right here in Mumbai. Whether you are here to learn, perform, or just find your rhythm, I’m here to guide you through the grace and the grit.
