Whether you are a child beginning your Bharatanatyam journey or an adult exploring the intensity of Flamenco, you will receive direct guidance in my Defence Colony studio. Dance is my way of telling stories and finding balance. My training methodology is built on a foundation of discipline, whether it is the classical precision of Bharatanatyam or the passionate, energetic movements of Flamenco. Students learn in my dedicated studio in Defence Colony, which is equipped with professional wooden laminate flooring and mirrors to support correct alignment and shock absorption. ### Bharatanatyam for Beginners I welcome children from age six to begin their journey with Bharatanatyam, starting with foundational elements like Alaripu. I use traditional methods like the Tattukazhi (stick) and Manai (wooden block) to help students feel the rhythm of Adavus in their bones. The class environment starts and ends with the Namaskar salutation, ensuring students learn the respect and discipline inherent to the art form. ### Flamenco Workshops For adults looking for something different, I teach Flamenco, which focuses on percussive footwork and complex rhythmic cycles. We work on Zapateado drills to build clarity and speed, alongside styling for arm movements (Braceo) and hand rotations (Floreo). These sessions are designed to be energetic and provide a creative outlet for hobbyists. ### Private Coaching If you need specific preparation for stage performances, competitions, or wedding choreography, I offer one-on-one sessions. These private classes are fully customized to your pace and goals, providing an intensive environment for micro-correction of Mudras, expressions, and posture. ## About Nandita Kalaan I balance my life between designing homes and teaching dance, finding rhythm in everything I do. My studio in Defence Colony is where I help students find their own voice through movement, whether it is the grace of Bharatanatyam or the fire of Flamenco.
