You will find yourself just a few feet from the poets, often sitting on metal folding chairs, creating a space where every whisper is heard. When the mic is off, performers sign our commemorative event poster—a tradition that makes every poet, from first-timers to regulars, a permanent part of our 15-year history. For over a decade and a half, we have held space for voices that need to be heard. Tuesdays with the Bard is not a polished production, and that is exactly why it works. It is India's longest-running weekly poetry event, a record we hold not for the prestige, but because the community keeps showing up. ### What happens on a Tuesday Whether you are an established writer or someone who has never shared a line of verse, our stage is open. We host an eclectic mix of spoken word, shayari, and heartfelt prose. Because we are located right on the edge of Ulsoor Lake, the atmosphere carries a different weight—it is quiet, reflective, and perfect for the spoken word. ### A space built on connection We believe that poetry thrives in proximity. You are not watching a show; you are sitting in a circle. Our audience is made up of book lovers, students, and thinkers who value the silence between the lines as much as the performance. ### The details * **The Format:** It is an open mic, but we often feature poets to guide the flow of the evening. * **The Vibe:** Informal, warm, and supportive. We don't use high-tech stage setups. We use a microphone, a spotlight, and the collective attention of the room. * **The Food:** Since this is a cafe, you are welcome to order a coffee or a meal while the readings happen. We want you to feel at home, so eat, drink, and listen. If you have a story to tell or just want to spend an evening surrounded by people who love words, come join us. There is always a seat, and there is always a story waiting to be told. ## About Urban Solace We built this space as a living room for the city's artists, and Tuesday nights are when that heart beats the loudest. We do not just host an event, we create a gathering for anyone who needs to feel heard. If you have a verse or just a need to listen, you are welcome here.
