When we pour Jesmonite or concrete, we do it by hand in small batches, which means you might occasionally see a tiny air bubble or a slight natural color shift in your piece. These aren't defects; they are the unique fingerprints of the pouring process, serving as proof that your item was hand-poured with care in our studio rather than stamped out in a factory. ### From Raw Materials to Your Home Our process is a rhythm we’ve built over the last few years: pour, wait, cure, sand, and seal. It starts with selecting the right base—usually Jesmonite for its smooth, durable finish, or concrete for a more raw, industrial texture. **The Journey of a Piece:** * **The Pour:** We hand-mix the pigments and base to create patterns like marble swirls or terrazzo speckles. This is where the magic—and the mystery—happens. We never know exactly how the color will flow until the mould comes off. * **The Cure:** We give every piece the time it needs to set. Patience is our most important tool here; rushing this step creates weak pieces, so we let the chemistry happen naturally. * **The Reveal:** Demoulding is the moment of truth. Whether it's a bubble tray or a custom photo holder, revealing the final shape is always the highlight of our day. * **The Finish:** Every item is sanded smooth and sealed with a water-resistant finish. This protects the material and ensures it stays looking beautiful on your vanity or coffee table. ### Why We Choose Jesmonite While we love the raw look of concrete, we lean heavily into Jesmonite for most of our home decor. It’s a solvent-free, water-based material that’s much kinder to the planet than traditional resins.
