Because many of our rescues come to us with behavioral history, we don't believe in quick handovers. Every adoption here includes a mandatory 90-minute handler training session so you know exactly how to manage triggers, work with leash pressure, and continue the progress we’ve started at the ranch. ### More Than Just Adoption We aren't a typical shelter where dogs just wait in cages. At our ranch in Whitefield, rescue dogs are part of our pack. They get to run, swim, and decompress in a safe, open environment. This is crucial for rehabilitation. Whether it's a dog dealing with resource guarding or severe reactivity like Piccolo, we work with them using science-based, balanced training techniques until they are ready to thrive in a home. ### The Adoption Process We are honest about every dog's quirks. If a dog needs specific management, you’ll know before you commit. We require adopters to be active participants in the integration process. Our Adoption & Handler Integration Package covers: * **Legal & Medical:** All necessary paperwork, adoption deeds, and final vet clearances. * **Behavioral Support:** A 90-minute session with our certified behaviorist to ensure you understand your dog’s specific needs. * **Transition Kit:** You leave with a safety slip-lead, a starter pack of their current diet, and dehydrated natural treats to keep training consistent at home. ### Why We Do It We believe dog training is 50% human training. We are looking for families who want to learn how to communicate with their dog, not just own one. If you are ready to put in the time to build that bond, take a look at our current residents. They’ve come a long way, and they’re waiting for the right person to step up. Come visit us near Kannamangala lake to meet the pack. We are always looking for sponsors, volunteers, and people who truly understand that a second chance is the best gift you can give. ## About Poochkoo Mutts & Nutts I'm not a shelter; I'm a ranch where dogs learn how to be dogs again. My team and I focus on behavioral rehab, meaning we only move to adoption when the dog is ready—and when you’re ready, too.
