Since I create everything in small, slow batches, these designs aren't mass-produced. If you are looking for something specific for your home or a unique gift, message me and we can chat about what is currently available or if I can throw a fresh batch just for you. ### The Story in the Clay Pottery is my escape. It is messy, calming, and full of surprises. Every piece you see here, from the sgraffito bowls to the bird-themed mugs, represents a moment of focus in my Whitefield studio. I do not aim for industrial perfection. Instead, I embrace the wobbles, the unique glaze flows, and the hand-carved details that make each item a one-of-a-kind object. ### My Process My work often starts on the wheel, focusing on centering and pulling consistent walls, but I love the freedom of hand-building when I want to add organic texture. Once formed, pieces go through a two-stage firing process. The first bisque firing hardens the clay, and the second high-temperature glaze firing turns it into the durable, food-safe ceramic you see. ### Custom and Functional Art Whether it is a hand-painted koi fish vase or a textured tumbler, I make these to be used. * **Functional:** Mugs, jars, and bowls designed for daily use. * **Artistic:** Sculptures and planters that add character to your space. * **Customization:** If you love a specific style but need a different size or quantity, I am happy to discuss custom orders. Looking after your pottery is simple. While my glazes are durable, hand-washing preserves the finish longer than a dishwasher. Each piece holds a bit of the calm energy I feel while working at the wheel, and I hope they bring that same peace into your home. ## About Mud Effects Pottery Studio I am Ritu, and for me, pottery is pure magic—a way to slow down and find connection in the mud. I spend my days in my Whitefield studio, getting my hands dirty and turning raw clay into pieces that hopefully bring you as much joy as they bring me.
