Instead of staying behind the barricades, I get into the crowd to capture the real moments of devotion and the collective push of the idol. To keep these shots clean despite the low light at night, I use high ISO settings on my Sony A7 IV, which allows me to maintain that cinematic look without losing detail in the shadows. ### Capturing the Pulse of the Festival When I shoot Ganesh Chaturthi, I am not just recording an event. I am looking for the small, quiet moments that hide in the noise. It might be the look on a devotee's face as they whisper their prayers, or the intricate details on the idol's face as it moves through the streets. My goal is to make you feel like you were standing right there in the procession. ### My Process * **Drone Cinematics:** I use aerial footage to show the massive scale of the crowds and the sheer size of the idols against the Mumbai skyline. This gives context that ground-level shots cannot provide. * **Sound Design:** A film is only as good as its audio. I layer ambient sounds from the streets, the dhol-tasha pathaks, and the crowd's chants into the final edit so the video vibrates with the energy of the festival. * **Fast Turnaround:** I know these memories are precious.
