You don't need fancy gear—wear whatever you can move freely in, like your favorite pair of jeans or tracks. If you don’t have dance shoes yet, just bring a pair of clean socks. They help you pivot and glide on the floor without sticking, making those first spins and steps feel smooth and effortless. ### What to Bring Don't stress about dressing up for a social. The vibe is casual. For footwear, bring comfortable shoes that are easy to move in. If you find your sneakers are gripping the floor too much, swap them for clean socks. Also, keep a towel and a water bottle in your bag—you will be moving more than you think! ### The Floor is Shared Think of the dance floor like traffic. You don't walk through the middle of a highway, right? Same goes here. If you are not dancing, walk around the edge of the floor to get from one side to the other. Cutting across the middle disrupts the flow and can lead to accidental bumps. ### Be Mindful of Space Whether you are dancing salsa, bachata, or kizomba, keep an eye on your surroundings. If the floor is crowded, keep your moves compact and close to your partner. If you have plenty of room, feel free to expand. Being aware of other couples makes the night safer and more enjoyable for everyone. ### The 'No Partner' Myth You absolutely do not need to bring a partner to join our socials. We swap partners during the night, and it is the best way to meet new people and get better at following or leading. You will find that everyone is there to learn and connect, regardless of their skill level. ### Respect the Connection Social dancing is a conversation. Respect your partner's space, pay attention to their comfort level, and always say thank you when the song ends. If you are ever unsure about a move or need help, just ask!
