In many of our designs, we use floor-to-ceiling shutters that slide completely inside the wall cavity. This gives you extra room for family prayers and havans, then tucks away discreetly when not in use. It is about giving you the space you need when it matters most. Designing a mandir is about balancing reverence with the realities of modern apartment living. We avoid cookie-cutter units, focusing instead on how the temple sits within your larger living or dining room layout. We often incorporate CNC-cut Corian panels for that subtle, geometric backdrop, or combine fluted glass with wooden frames to maintain privacy while letting light filter through. A popular request we see is keeping the mandir subtle—using frosted glass shutters that offer a glimpse of the interior while shielding the idols from direct view when the space needs to look clean and minimal. Think about your specific rituals. Do you need extra storage for puja samagri? Is a platform for seating required? We customise every inch, from integrated LED lighting that highlights the idols to specialized hardware for seamless shutter operation. Whether you have a small niche or an entire wall to dedicate, we build the design around your specific daily needs. ## About Monochrome Architects We are Mehak and Rohit, and we treat every home temple as a deeply personal project.
