My resin chairs, for instance, required months of experimentation and over 60kg of resin to perfect. Creating pieces from scratch is a demanding process, but it guarantees you receive something engineered specifically for your home's geometry and your personal needs. True comfort comes from items designed for the way you live. When I approach custom work, I am not just creating a shape; I am solving a problem. Consider the bar unit featured here. It is not merely a cabinet for spirits; it is a kinetic sculpture designed to slide open and create a focal point in a duplex lounge. That kind of precision can only be achieved by building from the ground up. Then, there is the matter of functional clutter. We often encounter awkward spaces, like a living room corner occupied by a structural duct, that interrupt the flow of a room. Rather than working around these intrusions, we design seamless storage units that conceal them entirely, turning a dead-end into useful space. Whether we are engineering 11-foot tall pocket doors for a dining area or casting resin into a sculptural chair, my team and I focus on the why before the what. We use advanced materials and engineering, like birch plywood for stability or specific resin mixtures for clarity, to ensure that every feature is not only visually striking but technically sound. If you are building a home, my advice is to avoid the rush to fill space with catalogue items. Take the time to identify what your home actually needs, whether that is a hidden pantry, a statement entrance, or a piece of furniture that tells a story. When the architecture and the interior features speak the same language, the result is a sanctuary that feels inherently yours. ## About Meenakshi Jessani I am Meenakshi, and my team at MJ Architects believes your home should be as distinctive as your journey.
