When I rehome a pup, I don't just hand over a dog. I work with the family to understand the specific personality and energy levels of the individual dog to ensure it is a forever match, not just a temporary fix. Finding a forever home for a rescue is the most fulfilling part of what I do. People often ask me why I put so much effort into vetting families for the 'box puppies' and other strays I rescue, and the answer is simple: I want it to stick. Adoption is a lifetime commitment, not a weekend project. When you see dogs like Yolo, Chowkidar, or Pista, you are looking at survivors. Many of them start from a place of fear or confusion, having been found on the streets, often in literal boxes. My job is to bridge that gap. I assess the pup's behavior—whether they have high prey drive, resource guarding tendencies, or are just anxious—and match that with a family that has the patience and environment to help them thrive. ### Why the right match matters Adoption isn't about picking the cutest puppy. It is about picking the right energy for your lifestyle. * **For the family:** I guide you through the initial adjustment period. It is usually messy and loud, but it passes. * **For the dog:** We work on socialization and confidence building so they don't develop behavior issues later in life. * **For the community:** Every dog adopted is one less stray struggling on the road, and one more friend gaining a life of love. If you are thinking about bringing a rescue dog into your home, you aren't just getting a pet. You are changing a life, and trust me, they will change yours right back. Babai, are you ready for a new pack member? ## About Mitali Salvi I'm Mitali. I have been training dogs since I was 19, and my life has been one long, beautiful lesson from them.
