My approach is simple: strip away the technical complexity and focus on what truly matters, which is light, authentic emotion, and safety. Below, I have gathered the core principles I teach in my workshops to help you make better images. ### For Parents: Preparing for Your Shoot Your pictures should tell your family’s real story. Do not worry about stiff poses or looking perfect. The best images happen when you forget the camera exists. When choosing outfits, pick textures and colors that make you feel comfortable rather than costumes that feel alien to you. Most importantly, plan your session around your child’s routine. A well-rested child is a happy child, and that comfort translates directly into the final photo. ### For Photographers: The Technical Foundation Your gear is secondary to your eye. Mastering light is the single most important skill you can develop. Stop obsessing over having the newest camera and start watching how natural light hits your subject. It is about learning to see the shadows and the highlights. If you are getting into newborn photography, please put safety above everything else. Never attempt a pose that risks a baby’s comfort just for a trend. Learn to use composite images to get those adorable shots safely. ### Building Your Business Do not try to be everyone else. Your unique voice—the way you interact with clients, your editing flow, your patience—is what will build a sustainable career. If you are ready to turn this into a profession, stop underpricing your work. High-end clients value your time and your expertise. Learn to audit your workflow, price your packages to include your overheads, and position yourself to attract the right people. Growth takes time, but it happens when you focus on real value. Whether you join one of my workshops or just read through these resources, my goal is to help you move from clicking buttons to creating art that actually resonates with your audience. ## About Memories by Barkha I'm Barkha.
