My sitar playing is rooted in the teachings of my father, Ustad Mohsin Ali Khan, and is guided by the blessings of maestros like Ustad Zakir Hussain. This deep grounding in Indian classical music informs every melody I play, whether I am performing a traditional raga or creating a modern fusion piece for your event. Being a 7th-generation musician means that every note I play carries the history and the discipline passed down through my family. I grew up hearing my father's tunes at home, and I carry those lessons with me to every stage, from intimate private gatherings to large concert halls. My journey is not just about the sitar; it is about the conversations I have had with legends. You will see moments here with the maestros who have inspired my craft, including Ustad Zakir Hussain, Taufiq Qureshi, and the late Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. These are not just photos; they are the standards of excellence I strive to maintain in every show. ### Why Tradition Matters in Modern Performances I believe that to innovate, one must first understand the tradition. My performances often bridge this gap. Whether you are looking for a soulful solo classical set or a dynamic fusion ensemble with tabla and drums, I bring this heritage to the stage. * **Deep Rootedness:** Every performance respects the classical Raga structure, ensuring an authentic sound. * **Versatile Execution:** My ensemble work with tabla, drums, and violin adapts to the energy of your event, be it a quiet morning raga or a high-energy fusion set. * **Personal Connection:** I am deeply committed to my craft and my clients, ensuring that every booking feels personal, professional, and memorable. If you are planning an event and looking for music that combines technical skill with emotional depth, I would be happy to discuss how we can tailor the sound to your specific requirements. ## About Mehtab Ali Niazi Namaskar, I am Mehtab Ali Niazi.
