Instead, I carefully weigh pure, organic henna powder and blend it with essential oils like eucalyptus or lavender. This slow-mixing process is the only way to get a deep, dark maroon stain that is safe for sensitive skin and matures naturally over two days. ### Why I Mix My Own Henna Many store-bought cones promise instant color, but they usually contain chemical additives or PPD that can irritate your skin and fade quickly. I prefer to control every ingredient that touches you. By using only organic powder and natural oils, I ensure the henna is safe for everyone from brides to moms-to-be at their Seemantha ceremonies. ### The Art of the Stain Your mehendi won't look dark immediately. After application, the paste starts as a bright orange and needs time to oxidize. My organic paste is formulated to deepen into a rich, dark maroon color over 48 hours. To help this process, I apply a lemon-sugar sealant once the design dries, which protects the lines and helps the color develop fully. ### Practical Aftercare To get the best results, avoid water for a few hours after I remove the dried paste.
