## About The Power of Voice: Our Choir Programs

Joining our choir program is more than learning to sing. We focus on vocal physiology and healthy technique so every student learns to project with confidence. Whether it is our Junior Choir or the Women’s Chorus, members rehearse weekly with a dedicated conductor and piano accompanist to prepare for major performances at venues like the NCPA.

At the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, our Singing Tree choral programme is built on the discipline of Western classical music. We do not just teach students to sing; we teach them how their instrument—their voice—works. Every weekly session is led by a professional conductor and supported by a piano accompanist. This partnership ensures that students grasp both vocal physiology and the nuances of harmony.

Our curriculum spans the Western classical canon, contemporary choral arrangements, and global folk music. This variety keeps training engaging while building a strong foundation in rhythm and pitch. As students move from the Junior Choir to the Youth Chorus or join our Women’s Choir, the challenge increases, matching their growing capabilities.

The highlight of our training is the stage. We believe performance is where confidence is truly forged. Students receive guaranteed participation in at least two major annual concerts, often held at prestigious Mumbai venues like the NCPA Tata Theatre or heritage churches. This is not a casual hobby group; it is a training ground where students learn to listen to their peers, follow a conductor, and contribute to a unified sound. We provide all necessary sheet music scores and guidance on concert attire, so students focus entirely on their preparation. Whether you are an adult seeking community or a parent looking for a disciplined environment for your child, our rehearsals at Kemps Corner offer a space to learn, grow, and perform with purpose.
