Once the paste falls off, keep your hands away from water for as long as you can. I always recommend applying a little coconut or mustard oil to the design after removing the dried paste, as this really helps the color mature beautifully over the next 48 hours. Everyone wants that perfect 'stain goal' result. Since I use only 100% organic, homemade henna paste, the safety of your skin is my priority. No harsh chemicals or dyes are ever involved, which means it is safe for everyone from kids to brides. ### Tips for the Perfect Stain To get the deepest color, keep the paste on for at least 6 to 8 hours. I know it is hard, especially when you have an event to get to, but patience is key. Avoid washing the area with water immediately after removal. Moisture is the enemy of a fresh stain during those first few hours. If you are having mehendi applied in Mumbai, the humidity usually works in our favor, but keeping the design warm helps the stain develop too. ### What to Expect A fresh henna stain often starts orange and darkens to a deep maroon or cherry red as it oxidizes over two days. If you notice it staying light, do not worry, it just needs a little more time to develop. I love seeing the photos you send me a day later when the color has fully popped.
